Marjon WELLS BENNIKPrinciple Scientist Food Safety at NIZO, Ede, the Netherlands. She has a broad expertise and background in food safety and quality, which was shaped by MSc and PhD research at Wageningen University, Postdoctoral training at Harvard University, and work experience at three different food research institutes (ATO, IFR, and NIZO). Her main focus is on the control of undesirable bacteria (spoilers and pathogens) in foods, which show an enormous diversity. She has managed large programs on heat resistant bacterial spores relevant to foods (Bacillus and Clostridium species) and on microbial contaminants in the dairy chain (spoilers and pathogens). |
